10 Things You Need Know About North Korea

From travel bans, to some odd secrets, these are 10 Things You Should Know About North Korea !
10. Still at War
9. The Supreme Leaders
8. The Demilitarized Zone
7. Nuclear Capabilities
6. Malnutrition
5. Hard Labor Camps
4. Travel Is Not Free
Many
of us might take being able to drive to a new city for granted or just hopping into our cars and going somewhere new. Not only do the highest government officials have cars here, the streets are frighteningly empty and no one is allowed to freely travel without special permission from the government. Normally meaning no! So you can imagine that they are also not allowed to travel outside the country as well! To top it off, North Korean Passports are extremely difficult to get. Due to the low wages here, it’s highly unlikely for anyone to even be financially able to see what life is like outside the hermit kingdom. And why would you want to when you have such a wonderful leader like Kim Jong Un! Displaying interest in another culture could also be deemed as treason
to the state and result in hard labor. So if you’re born in North Korea, don’t expect to be going anywhere! 3. Escape is Risky Living life without internet for many of you would be very difficult and you’d most likely want to escape but is it worth the try? It really is a lose lose situation, unless you truly have nothing to lose! Let’s say you are able to make it to South Korea. The government will be aware of your escape and your entire family will pay for your crimes in a hard labor camp and there’s even the possibility of execution. If North Korea can’t punish you, they’ll simply punish the ones you love the most. Escapees can often seek refuge in the South, but this certainly isn’t simple
since you have to get across the most heavily militarized border in the
world. You’re other option would be to go to China and then try to make it to Mongolia but, if the Chinese manage to catch you, they’ll
extradite you back to North Korea and you’ll be sure to spend the rest of your life in a hard labor camp! 2. God Like Status Imagine
being a ruler of your own country, having statues built of yourself, everywhere you go and seeing your image basically worshipped! Seems likeit would pretty cool right! He also gets his people to believe what hetells them too, or else! He invented the hamburgerKim Jong il was allegedly born at Mt. Baekdu, and when he was born, a new star formed
and it went from being winter to spring overnight, with rainbows and
happiness everywhere! Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un also has never used a toilet, and people really do believe these kind of nonsense. Kim Jong Un is actually fairly well-educated and received a western education in the neutral country of Switzerland. Growing up he enjoyed playing an American sport, we might know as basketball. His obsession with this sport actually led to him and DENNIS RODMAN developing some type of friendship. Long story short, Kim Jong Un is always a star no matter where he goes and when people are in his presence, they seem to get emotionally dramatic 1.Threat to Security North Korea claims to have a nuclear missile capable of reaching American soil. The animousity seems to keep building up each and every day against the US and many people in North Korea are brought up from a young age to despise us. If there’s any nation out there who seems to be unstable enough to bring on a Nuclear war, it would be a fair assumption to believe it would be the Hermit Kingdom. The people in South Korea feel the most threatened and personally feel like they would be the target if Kim Jong Un were to turn the key, especially after they felt the earth tremble from the nuclear tests. North Korea makes quite a few threats and only time will tell if they pull through with them.
